With a population of 20,000 and located at the confluence of the St. Mary’s and Kootenay Rivers, Cranbrook is the largest town in the East Kootenays. Together with Kimberley and neighbouring communities, it’s known as the sunniest place in B.C.
East Kootenays / Lake Country:
Lake Koocanusa, Tie Lake, Rosen Lake, Baynes Lake
With its gently sloping mountains, lakes and fertile valleys, Lake Country is an oasis for boating, quiet retreats and outdoor pursuits. With its hot summers and temperate winters, it is a favourite vacation spot for BC natives as well as people from further afield.
